Karen began her Accounting career at the law firm of Cowles and Thompson, LLC, in Dallas, Texas, which specializes in complex commercial litigation.  She worked in Public Accounting at the international firm of BDO Seidman, consulting with a diverse range of clients.  Her services included litigation support, fraud detection, audits, strategic planning, asset tracing, software implementation, and extensive business analysis.  Karen has testified as an Expert Witness in Charleston County court.

For over ten years Karen founded and  managed three businesses encompassing various aspects of the garment manufacturing industry.  She has worked for publicly traded international corporations and closely  held businesses focusing on the accounting and financial aspects of business technology, software development, medical, dental, long-term care, insurance, education, and transportation industries.

Karen and her husband, David, reside in Charleston, South Carolina on James Island.  David is employed by The Boeing Company, after completing thirty years of service with American Airlines.
